Electronics Research Institute Initiative (Localization of electronics industry technology)
Program Overview
Graduates from Egyptian universities are invited to apply for a 3-months placement in one of ERI's host laboratories, located at the Electronics Research Institute in Nozha, Cairo, Egypt. Selected graduates will receive specialized training guided by one of the following ERI’s fields:
Microelectronics, Nano Technology, Microwave, Photovoltaic, Power Electronics, Microstrip, Computers and Systems, and Informatics.
Internship Benefits

- Contribute as a coauthor to the published work including the conducting research
Eligibility and Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Bachelor’s degree certificate in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, computer science or related fields to the research track.
- Curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages), detailing education, degrees earned, and technical skills
Program Deliverables
Participants are expected to:
- Present their progress weekly
- Deliver a final project at the end of the internship
Certification: Interns will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the program, providing that they
- Attend at least 90% of the program
- Complete all assigned tasks
- Achieve an above-average evaluation for their project work
Selection Process
- ERI committee will screen all applications to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
- The committee will select the top candidates based on their CVs and personal interviews.

General Rules and Conditions
- Eligibility: The internship is open to graduates from governmental universities in Egypt with degrees in engineering or materials science, with a minimum overall grade of "Very Good" and no more than five years since graduation.
- Safety Compliance: Interns must follow safety guidelines and handle equipment according to the supervisor's instructions. The intern must compensate for any damage caused to institute property, with costs determined by ERI.
- Attendance and Conduct: Interns must adhere to attendance and location guidelines set by their supervisor. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring interns follow safety protocols and comply with attendance requirements.
- Intellectual Property: All research, projects, and activities conducted during the internship are the exclusive intellectual property of ERI and its supervising researchers.
- Contracting for work: The institute is not committed to appointing or contracting with graduates who pass the scholarship after the end of the scholarship period.
